Bob McIntyreHe was a radio operator on board the Drexler. He tells of a young scut that was supposed to stand a listening watch. However, the man would just sit at his chair with his headphones off his head. One day, when Bob told him to straighten up, he said, I don't work for you - I work for Jim so and so." Well... one thing led to another, and Jim so-and-so showed up in the radio room shortly. When Bob told him what the scut was trying to pull, he grabbed him up short and told him very quickly that he was to do whatever Bob told him to do. And that was an ORDER! Listening to Bob tell the story, the man was shaky, appologetic and likely swimming in wet drawers. |
