My father's brother was missing in action, Daniel Jenkins- RM1c(T). I have the letter sent to Aunt Julia,Uncle Dan's mother from ship's commander informing her he was last seen in the radio tower. I was four years old but he was my favorite uncle aand un il this site today, I had no other information. Thank you! Anyone who may have known him -mI would love to hear from you.

I heard about the USS Drexler while serving with the 3rd Marines, 3rd Marine Div. Being the only marine in my battalion with the name Drexler, I became fascinated and associated with the Drexler; and very saddened when I learned of the sinking.

MY FATHER-IN-LAW'S BROTHER WAS KILLED ON THE DREXLER (ERNEST WILLIE HALL, JR). THE ONLY THING THE FAMILY HAS TO REMEMBER HIM BY IS A MONUMENT IN THE FAMILY PLOT AT THE CEMETARY. THIS WEB SITE REALLY GIVES US A LOT MORE INFORMATION THAN WHAT WE HAD ABOUT T AT LAST DAY. THANK YOU.

My father-in-law (James R. McGrath) served aboard the Drexler and the USS Meredeth (DD 726) during WWII. He lost the Meredith at Normandy and the Drexler at Okinawa. I'm interested in the history of his ships.

I really appreciate this web-site. My father was killed on the Drexler. (Bodie Paul Lebo) I was only 2 years old. This web-site gives me some insight into what happened on the last day of his life. It also gives his grandchildren and great grandchildren some connection to their Grandfather.

I contacted E. Brick about a year ago, and he gave me a lot of info on the Drexler. Iam trying to find a Sumner class Destroyer model.What do the Bumper stickers have on them? Very nice site.I would like to thank the men of the Drexler, for fighting for our country and presearving our freedom.
