It gives me great pleasure to be the grandson-in-law to Gene Brick. My wifes (Ashley) grandfather. Gene and I have spent many hours talking about our lifes in the Navy. My uncle, Seaman 2/c Ralph Leon Marchant, lost his life on the Drexler that fateful day. The loss of my uncle has always been an extremely sorrowful event for my family. I have the utmost respect and admiration for my uncle, even though I never had th priviledge of meeting him. If anyone out there knew him or can share any memories of the ship and its crew with me, I would be most grateful.
